Located in the heart of Larimer, The Kingsley Association has a rich history – over 129 years – of meeting community need for organized social, educational, and recreational programming for children, youth, and their families. Kingsley was established in 1893 to provide services to working-class ethnic families of Pittsburgh, first for the Kingsley House in the Strip District, and then to the Lower Hill. Our facilities have been located in the East End since 1919, and we also operated the Lillian Taylor Camp in Valencia, Pennsylvania, from 1902 until its closure in 2006. Over the years, Kingsley has provided a variety of programs to neighborhood residents in East Liberty, Larimer, and other East End communities. Programs have included Boys and Girls Clubs, infant-care programs, music lessons, cooking and home economics classes, swimming, basketball, boxing, senior citizen classes, arts and crafts classes, camping, educational and career guidance, and so much more!
