The BGC’s Community Activity Center, located at 113 N. Pacific Avenue, is home to a wide spectrum of activities, meetings, and events over the course of the year. The Center is made available for programs or events – organized by the BGC, as well as other groups and agencies – that can be of benefit to neighborhood residents. Among the groups the BGC has forged collaborations with are Garfield Jubilee Association, around its YouthBuild program; the IRS, around providing free tax-return assistance to lower-income households; and NeighborWorks of Western PA, around homebuyer education workshops. The space is also utilized by Alcoholics Anonymous for weekly meetings, the Garfield land trust for bi-weekly meetings, and Alpha Iota Sorority to host clothing drives and give children free haircuts ahead of the school year.
